Earlier I posted on the new capabilities that the XBOX 360 has received in its New Xbox Experience update from Microsoft. The statistics are in, and I believe that they speak for themselves. Consisting of 14 million users at one time, if it were a U.S. City, it would be the largest city in the United States, totalling more than New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago combined. You can check out these statistics here: Microsoft Reveals Post-NXE Xbox Live Stats
Nick Charalambous, NewSpring Church Internet Pastor, posted on “People who diss social networks are hypocrites” and related the facebook network to a city. I have never thought of it in that way before but it’s so true! With Xbox live serving all types of people… gamers, media enthusiasts, or a family in search of a movie night without having to leave the room, how is that for a city? This would be the largest city here in the entire United States. I think it has some influence.
How many people can be reached through this medium? This is hitting people right in their homes! How can we deny that type of influence that the Church has the ability to utilize and use for building the Kingdom of God?
